City of Danville

Danville is an independent city on the Dan River in Southern Virginia. Housing includes historic in-town neighborhoods, established residential streets, renovated and renovation-ready properties, multi-family buildings and newer residential development. The city is served by municipal water and sewer, city services, Sovah Health Danville, retail corridors along Riverside Drive and Piedmont Drive, the River District, and public parks and the Riverwalk Trail along the Dan River.

Pittsylvania County

Pittsylvania County surrounds the City of Danville and covers a large land area with towns, unincorporated communities, rural homes, farms and vacant land. Many county properties sit on larger lots with well and septic systems, and parcels vary widely in road frontage, acreage and usable land.

  • Chatham — county seat, in-town historic homes and surrounding rural property
  • Gretna — town properties and rural acreage with Route 29 access to the north
  • Ringgold — homes and acreage east of Danville near Route 58
  • Blairs, Mount Hermon and Dry Fork — county residential areas near the city line

Roads, employment and public amenities
